Guests and Visitors
Thank you for spending your prime-time Sunday Morning with us! St. Bartholomew's seeks to be a place where all people encounter the living God and the reconciling Gospel of Jesus Christ. We welcome people of every denomination and faith. If you are just passing through we wish you "Godspeed" on your journey. If you are looking for a spiritual home, you will find a ready welcome here.
If you are a newcomer or visitor please make yourself known to the clergy after the service. Ushers, greeters, clergy and members of our community are happy to assist you in learning more about Saint Bart's. We invite you to fill out a newcomer card (found on the back of the pews) and give it to a greeter at the door following the liturgy. After the 10:00 a.m. service, please join us at the social gathering for refreshments and conversation.
Our 8:00 am service is a traditional Rite I service, without choir. We use a wide variety of liturgical texts, music and other experiential forms at our 10:00 am service. Everything that you need is found in this bulletin or in the books in the pew rack: The Hymnal 1982 (red book) or the Music supplement (white notebook). Congregational parts are labeled or highlighted in bold. We invite you to participate in the posture and gestures of the service as you are able. Wheelchair accessible seating is available to the right and left of the front most pew. Audio transmitters are available for those who may have difficulty hearing the service. Large print bulletins are also available on the tables by the entry to the sanctuary. Simply ask an usher or greeter for assistance. Please turn off audible cells phones and pagers.
During the summer, Sunday childcare hours are from 9:45am to 11am. During the program year, we expand Sunday childcare hours are to 8:00am to 11am. The nursery is equipped and staffed for the safety and care of younger children. From September thru mid-June, during the first part of the worship service there are activities downstairs called "Explore More!" for children ages 3 through 8. At the offertory children will join the worship service. During the whole year, a Children's Chapel is held for nursery-age children at the beginning of the 10:00am service..
